99 Camry Power Steering Problem

99 Camry, 4 cyl with 120K. When cold turning steering wheel is difficult with either left of right turn of wheel. Once car is running for a minute or two the steering is normal with no hesitation either direction. Any experience with this problem? Power steering pump or rack assembly? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Start out by checking the fluid level in the power steering reservoir and
making sure it is full.

If the power steering drive belt has more than 60,000 miles, it may be worth
changing it.

Check the condition of the u-joint of the steering shaft.

If all 3 above are good,, then try flushing the power steering fluid and
replacing with new fluid.

thanx.. I thought so.... just hever had one go bad on me before... looks like a nightmare to rpelace, as it's in a really rotten location,,,
almost impossibe to get to... no room at all, in the location on the 1989 Corolla SR5.
